The Bible and Zionism each supported the other in creating the State of Israel. After the founding of Israel, the appropriation of biblical place names developed into a political movement that claimed sovereignty for Israel, constructed Jewish national memory, and dissolved Palestinian national memory. The movement occurred in three stages: the Negev Desert Pilot, nationwide implementation, and implementation in occupied areas. The study found that there were three paths in constructing Jewish national memory: Time-Space association, group association, and interactive association. The "conflict of memory" triggered by the movement may well induce violence and lead to turbulence in the Israel-Palestine situation.
