Holy Communion is the core of all liturgies of Christianity. Catholic and Orthodox hold weekly Eucharist and Protestant holds once several months. But doing and participating in the Eucharist mean Jesus Christ is with us. "Jesus Christ is with us" is the basic element of Holy Communion. We attend Sunday Service not to fulfill religious duty, but to experience deeply the presence of the Risen Christ in our midst. Thus we may be the images of Christ and the witness of Christ's vital energy in the world. It is a task for all theologians to interpret the real presence of Christ without sacrificing the faith experiences of the Eucharistic celebration. There are purposes in this essay. First, the reality of the Eucharist, i.e. the Holy Communion of both the presider and the participants with Jesus Christ, is by no means a Christian fantasy. The Second is, to introduce the elements of the Holy Communion. And the third is, to look for a contemporary interpretation of the real presence of Christ for both Catholic and Protestant Churches.
