摘要

本文主要目的在從檔案組織及檢索需求探討檔案索引典的相關問題。首先解釋檔案特徵和資料組織的進展、其次說明檔案資料組織方法和檢索的關係，第三討論國家檔案需要有索引典，並介紹美、英、澳等國家檔案局的索引典發展現況，以及發展檢索典的簡單步驟，作為國家檔案局推展檔案索引典的參考。

This paper discusses the issues on National Archives and its relations with thesaurus construction and information retrieval. Cases on National Archives and thesauri, including U.S., U.K., and Australia are reviewed. Methods to construct a thesaurus for National Archives and for effective retrieval are proposed.
