使用加熱法移除感壓式膠帶的技術探討

摘要


透明的感壓式膠帶常用於修補紙質藏品上的裂痕。然此類膠帶卻會促使紙張劣化,因此穩定曾經膠帶附著文物的最佳方案就是立即移除膠帶。感壓式膠帶的組成材料大致分爲形成黏性部分的膠料與承載膠料的基材兩大組成物,須先將基材移除再清理剩餘的殘膠。此時可利用感壓式膠料在高溫時表現爲似液體的特性,加熱移除膠帶基材,以方便後續移除殘餘的膠料。

Pressure sensitive tapes are often used to mend the tears on paper. However, this kind of tape accelerates the deterioration of paper. The best solution to stabilize those tape-mended papers is removing the tapes. Pressure sensitive tape is constructed of two major layers: adhesive layer, which gives the adhesion and tack, and carrier layer, which supports the adhesive. Conservators have to remove the carrier first and then clean the residual adseive. Pressure sensitive adhesive is liquid-like at high temperature, the carriers can be removed by heating so that it would be easier to clean the residual adhesives.
