The purpose of this experiment was to explore the effects of the integrated creative teaching method on the creative ability, the creative attitude, and the academic achievements of the students in vocational senior high schools. The study was basically an pre-posttest control group design study. The subjects were 356 freshmen and sophomore students in two vocational senior high schools in Taipei City. The experimental group received the integrated creative teaching program for one semester. At the beginning and the end of the semester, both experimental and control groups took Torrance Test of Creative Thinking (TTCT) and Williams' Creative Assessment Packet (CAP) to examine the effects. In addition, teachers' observations and students' work, self-reports as well as academic records were collected. The one way analysis of covariance, t-test and content analysis were conducted to analyze the data. The major findings of this study are as follows: 1. The verbal creative teaching improved some of the figural creative thinking ability of the students in the experimental group. 2. The figural creative, teaching improved some of the verbal creative thinking ability of the students in the experimental group. 3. Teaching with figural materials, the control group scored significant highly on some of TTCT, figural. 4. Teaching with verbal materials, no significant difference was found on the scores of TTCT, verbal. 5. No significant difference was found on the scores of CAP between the experimental and control group. 6. The integrated creative teaching method improved the academic achievement of the students. 7. Both the teachers and the students enjoyed integrated creative teaching method. Based on the above findings, the writer made 21 recommendations to teachers, schools as well as educational administrations concerned, 10 recommendations for future studies.
