Through analyses, comparisons, and deductions of the theoretical and empirical research in different literatures, this study explores the relationship between athletes' perception of coaches' leadership behavior as well as their training satisfaction and their performances. The results show that all leadership theories, ranging from the early traits theory of leadership to the recent theory of the New Leadership, have indicated the importance of leadership to organizations. The performances of athletes/players are greatly influenced by their coaches' leadership behavior, and their perception of coaches' leadership behavior also affects their training satisfaction. Coaches must be involved in the motivations of athletes/players so that they can have a positive perception and that they can be keen on the. Coaches also have to meet the needs of athletes/players in order to improve their training satisfaction, which, when raised, can in turn motivate athletes/players to participate in the training and have better performances.
