With the characteristics of high efficiency, flexibility and environmental friendliness, supercritical carbon dioxide(S‐CO_2) brayton cycle power generation technology has gradually entered the researchers’ view. At present, the research on S‐CO_2 power generation technology is on the rise. In this paper the principle and advantages of S‐CO_2 cycle were listed, especially the latest progress in the thermal system cycle research and key equipment research of S‐CO_2 power generation in China. The author points out the technical difficulties existing in the distance between the power generation technology and commercial application, and also gives the solutions taken by the current researchers for these problems, which will provide reference for the large‐scale application of the S‐CO_2 power generation technology in the future.
