Study on Spatial Distribution Characteristics and Influencing Factors of Catering Industry in Taiyuan Based on POI Data

In order to understand the development status of the urban catering industry and make a reasonable and useful planning and layout of the spatial distribution of the catering industry, this paper took the urban area of Taiyuan as the research area, uses the POI data, used the kernel density analysis method, the standard deviation ellipse method and the geographically weighted regression model to analyze the spatial distribution of the catering industry in the urban area of Taiyuan and its influencing factors. The results showed clearly that there were three hot spots in the catering industry in Taiyuan, which are Liuxiang Business District, Changfeng Business District and Taiyuan Economic and Technological Development Zone. There was a significant difference in the development of the catering industry between the old urban areas and new urban areas, that is to say, the development of the catering industry was extremely uneven. From the perspective of quantity, the spatial distribution of catering industry in the urban area of Taiyuan presented the characteristics of "more in the center and less at the edges". The number of Chinese restaurants and fast food restaurants, wide audience, wide distribution; While foreign restaurants and leisure restaurants had higher economic requirements, and the number is relatively small. From the perspective of layout, the catering industry in Taiyuan urban area presented the spatial pattern of northwest ‐ southeast development. Schools, residential areas, traffic stations and enterprises had a positive effect on the spatial distribution of catering industry in Taiyuan urban area. The influence of schools and residential areas on the spatial distribution of catering industry in the urban area of Taiyuan was great, while the influence of traffic stations and enterprises on the spatial distribution of catering industry was relatively small. Location selection was very important for the development of catering industry. This paper used the new POI data to explores the spatial distribution characteristics of catering industry in Taiyuan urban area, in order to provide reference for improving the layout of catering network and urban planning.
