A Preliminary Study on the Return of Drug Addicts to Society in Y City H Community

摘要

The difficulties faced by rehabilitated drug addicts returning to society after their release from the institution have always been a very difficult issue in the field of drug rehabilitation social work practice and theoretical research. In this paper, through a survey of drug rehabilitants in community H of K, we found that drug rehabilitants face negative psychological and behavioral problems caused by their drug use experience, poor social interactions, indifferent family relationships, employment difficulties, and lack of social support, etc. These difficulties intertwine and often lead to low self‐esteem, self‐abandonment, and even hatred of society, which can easily lead to relapse into the abyss. The relatively low efficiency of community drug rehabilitation social work makes it difficult to form an effective support for their return to society. In response to the aforementioned problems, we believe that only by improving the quality of the drug addicts themselves, purifying interpersonal relationships, enhancing family support functions, improving social adaptability, and establishing professional drug rehabilitation social work teams can we effectively promote the process of drug addicts' return to society.
