LTE-WLAN聚合網路間負載平衡之研究

摘要


LTE-WLAN聚合(LTE-WLAN aggregation, LWA)是由3GPP所定義之技術。在LWA中,可以讓同時具有LTE與Wi-Fi兩種網路介面之使用者設備(User Equipment, UE)同時連接LTE與Wi-Fi網路。LWA的目的在於使UE可隨時依需要同時使用LTE與Wi-Fi進行網路連線,所有的連線或資料傳輸將受到LTE網路端的設置,有效提升UE的傳輸效能。本論文在NS3上同時建構了LTE以及Wi-Fi網路,並透過LWA的架構,把Wi-FiAP連接到4GeNB(evolved Node B)上,並設置UE可同時使用LTE以及Wi-Fi網路,UE將回報Wi-Fi訊號強度(Received Signal Strength, RSS)和LTE訊號強度(Reference Symbol Received Power,RSRP)給eNB,eNB將透過本研究所提出LTE-WLAN聚合網路間負載平衡機制(LWA-LB)有效的提升UE的傳輸效能,並且加入Wi-Fi的換手機制,補足LWA移動性不佳的問題,增加使用者的使用感受。

LTE-WLAN aggregation (LTEA) is a technology defined by 3GPP. In LWA, the user equipment (User Equipment, UE) can simultaneously connected to the LTE and Wi-Fi networks, which have both LTE and Wi-Fi network interfaces. The purpose of LWA is to enable the UE to use LTE and Wi-Fi for network connection at any time. All connection or data transmission for LWA is configured by the LTE network, which could improve the transmission performance of the UE effectively. This paper implement the LWA networks on NS3, and connects the Wi-Fi AP to the 4G eNB (evolved Node B) through the LWA architecture, and enables the UE to access both LTE and Wi-Fi networks. The UE will report the Received Signal Strength (RSS) to Wi-Fi AP and the Reference Symbol Received Power (RSRP) to the eNB. The eNB will improve the transmission performance of the UE effectively base on the proposed load balancing mechanism (LWA-LB) for LTE-WLAN aggregation networks. And adding Wi-Fi handoff mechanism to solve LWA's poor mobility problem, increase user experience.
