方修“战前”和“战后”马华文学史的建构与断裂

The Construction and Fracture of Fang Xiu's History of 'Pre-war' and 'Post-war' Mahua Literature

摘要


方修《大系》出版以后,对马华文学研究的影响甚远。他前后编纂了十册本战前《马华新文学大系》(1910-1945)和四册本《战后马华新文学大系》,并在上述《大系》的基础上撰写马华文学史。论述的跨度从1910年直到1970年为止。按《大系》所建构起来的作品体系,方修还建立了一套现实文学主义批评范式。然而仔细阅读,方修的战前马华新文学和战后马华新文学的论述,从结构和方法上来看存有断裂与缺陷。本文从以下三方面探讨此问题,首先从方修的《大系》的出版背景和建制谈起。其次从历时性和共时性的角度,阐述方修战前和战后《大系》的建构。第三,反思《战后大系》的局限和不足之处,探讨方修的战后马华文学史为何远不及“战前马华文学史”论述来得意义深远。

After Fang Xiu's Mahua Literature Series was published, it had a far-reaching influence on the study of Chinese literature in Malaysia. He compiled ten volumes of the pre-war Mahua New Literature Series (1910-1945) and four volumes of Post-war Mahua New Literature Series. He wrote the history of Mahua Literature based on the above-mentioned Mahua Literature Series. The discussion spans from 1910 to 1970. According to the work system constructed by Mahua Literature Series, Fang Xiu also established a set of realistic literary criticism paradigm. However, Fang Xiu's discourses on the pre-war and post-war Mahua Literature have fractures and flaws in terms of structure and methods. This article focuses on the following three aspects. Firstly, it starts with the publishing background and organizational system of Fang Xiu's Mahua Literature Series. Secondly, from the perspective of diachronic and synchronicity, it elaborates on the construction of Fang Xiu's pre-war Mahua Literature Series and Post-war Mahua New Literature Series. Thirdly, it reflects on the limitations and deficiencies of the "Post-War Series", and explore why Fang Xiu's Post-war history of Mahua Literature is far less meaningful than the Pre-war History of Mahua Literature.
