Classical Chinese poetry is not often a tool to express personal emotions but is mostly associated with self-cultivation, family management, and realizing the great Tao. Therefore, in the contemporary study of classical poetry, in addition to its lyrical methods, we should comprehend the profound intrinsic beauty and Tao. The way of realizing profound beauty can be divided into three levels: reading and reciting, understanding the teachings as well as meanings, and practice as per the teachings. Integrating these three levels is the optimal way to study classical Chinese poetry.
