NETWORK EUPHEMISMS OF 5G AGE AND CHINESE LIFE IN COVID-19 TIME
摘要
At the age of 5G, the Internet has become an indispensable part of modern people' s life. In the process of online communication, many Network euphemisms are coined in order to avoid offence, conflict or embarrassment, showing humor and modesty. Certain network euphemisms with salient characteristics of the age achieve special effects because of their implicitness and humor. The forms, sources, humorous effect of newly coined "network euphemisms" are analyzed here. They reflect Chinese people's flourishing network life as well as multiple cultures at current COVID-19 age.
