One of the major characteristics of Lefevere's "rewriting theory" is to examine translation in the context of society, history and culture, and consequently liberate to some extent the translator who has long been unwilling to be a "slave" to the author. The "rewriting theory" has greatly changed the "master-servant" relationship between the author and the translator, and raised the cultural status of the latter. Based on the "rewriting theory", this paper analyzes two translation cases related to ideology, and summarizes the relevant techniques and methods of ideology-related rewriting in translation.
