Ye Qingchen, an official of esteemed integrity, was a respected literatus in the Northern Song dynasty. There are variant records of the years of his birth and death as well as of his place of birth. This article compares these records and concludes that Ye Qingchen died at the age of fifty and between April and May 1049 CE which is the first year of the Huangyou era during the reign of Emperor Renzong of Song, and was born in 1000 CE which is the third year of the Xianping era during the reign of Emperor Zhenzong of Song. His choronym was Nanyang. His domicile of original was Wucheng, Huzhou, and he migrated to Changzhou, Suzhou. The article also presents Ye Qingchen's biographical chronology.
