This essay is aimed to provide a critique of the current policy of bilingual country. It is widely known that the policy of bilingual country, initiated in 2019, aims to make R.O.C (Taiwan) a bilingual country by 2030. Given the ambition and significant implications of this policy, the authors of this essay set to examine the following questions. First, what is the goal of this policy? Second, what is the raison d'etre of this policy and can it be justified? Third, is the procedure for formulating this policy sound and reasonable? Lastly, are the means for achieving the goal feasible? Based on the author's observations of the possible answers to the above four questions, this essay concludes that the currently advocated and promoted bilingual country policy does not seem to be a satisfactory policy.
