Scholars have long recognized the importance of metaphors, but studies of KIND metaphors, a new type of metaphor, are relatively few. This study believes that KIND metaphors should have richer constructions than just the prototypical is-a-kind-of construction. Therefore, using corpus as a research tool, five other constructions of KIND metaphors were found, namely: "是種shi zhong", "是......的一種shi...de yizhong", "視為......的一種shi wei...de yizhong", "當作......的一種dang zuo...de yizhong" and "作為......的一種zuo wei...de yizhong". After finding out these five constructions from the corpus, we further compiled the similarities and differences of the syntactic structure of each construction. This study also found that many words in KIND metaphors have a commonality: some word categories appeared frequently to the extent that the usage has been frozen. For this type, the degree of metaphor decreases. This study hopes to integrate the meanings of these frozen words and provide a new perspective on KIND metaphors.
