本研究旨在進行廣藿香(Pogostemon cablin Benth.)之體外細胞抗發炎效果測試,並對其傳統醫學應用之安全性研究加以彙整。利用小鼠巨噬細胞株在細菌脂多醣(lipopolysaccharide, LPS)及廣藿香水萃液作用下,分析三種發炎反應因子濃度,以評估其抗發炎效果,包括一氧化氮(nitric oxide, NO)、介白素6(interleukin 6, IL-6)及腫瘤壞死因子-α(tumor necrosis factor-alpha, TNF-α),同時也進行細胞毒性(microculture tetrazolium assay, MTT assay)分析。結果顯示,在LPS作用下的巨噬細胞株,添加10.0%之廣藿香水萃取液,具顯著抗發炎反應,可抑制LPS所誘發 NO與IL-6之生成,對於NO之抑制率為35.8%,對IL-6之抑制率為62.1%,而對TNF-α的生成則無顯著影響。同時,廣藿香水萃取液在各受測濃度,不具細胞毒性。綜上結果,廣藿香於體外細胞層面之研究,呈現正效應。然,廣藿香整體之臨床治療效果,仍需更進一步之研究。
This study aims to explore the anti-inflammatory effects of Pogostemon Cablin Benth. on cells in vitro, and to summarize the safety of the past-studied of its traditional medical applications. In this experiment, the mouse macrophage cell strain was used to analyze the concentration of three inflammatory response factors under the action of bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and Pogostemon Cablin Benth extract to evaluate its anti-inflammatory effect. The three inflammatory response factors are nitric oxide (NO), interleukin 6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor-α (tumor necrosis factor-alpha, TNF-α). The experimental results show that the macrophage cell line under the action of LPS, with 10.0% Pogostemon Cablin Benth extract, has a significant anti-inflammatory response and can inhibit the production of NO and IL-6 induced by LPS. The inhibition rate of NO was 35.8%, the IL-6 was 62.1%, and it had no significant effect on the production of TNF-α. Meanwhile, the Pogostemon Cablin Benth extract showed no cytotoxicity at all tested concentrations. In summary, the research of Pogostemon Cablin Benth extract at the cell level in vitro shows a positive effect. However, the overall clinical therapeutic effect of Pogostemon Cablin Benth extract still needs further research.
