The spread of COVID-19 has become global pandemic since 2020. The quick outbreak events have been causing confirmed cases in local communities in Taiwan. Due to the increasing number of suspected cases, the workload of local firefighters responsible for patient transportation has also increased significantly. The frequent confirmed case transportation jobs also increase the frequency of disinfection procedures and decrease the disinfection time between cases. In this situation, firefighter-EMTs in Taiwan have begun to criticize current disinfection procedures that may need to be modified. This article attempts to explain the reasons for the various stages of the existing disinfection procedures, and at the same time gives suggestions for improvement of the disinfection procedures.
