索隐派的研究路径、拓展应用及其重新评价

On the Research Path, Application and Reappraisal of the Figurism

摘要


17世纪末到18世纪初,以白晋为代表的索隐派,以基督教思想重新阐释中国传统经典,以中国传统经典阐释基督教,建立起两者之间的联系,是经文辩读的早期尝试。其思想在两个传统中同时受到批判,长期遭到质疑和过度忽略。然而他们的研究确实具有积极意义,比如为天主教的传播获得一定的合法性依据,客观上促进了欧洲汉学的研究,对中西文化交流做出的贡献有目共睹。在近现代耶儒融合的过程中,索隐派的思路和研究路径一直都有影响。本文选取其中几个个例加以说明。民国时期加拿大宣教士明义士采用汉字字形分析法,开创性的从宗教学的角度来研究甲骨文,对甲骨文研究做出的贡献不容忽视。1917年创立之中国本土教派真耶稣教会第二代领袖魏以撒,采用数字索隐的思路建构教义、解读经典,再次引发对数字索隐法的评判和反思。金陵协和神学院田童心教授对《易经》和《圣经》进行的研究,是索隐派研究的进一步拓展。本文尝试探讨索隐派的研究路径及其影响,尝试更加客观的进行评价,希望引起兴趣对其进行批判性的继承,为推进基督教中国化的研究带来新的启发。

From the end of the 17th century to the beginning of the 18th century, the Figurists represented by Joachim Bouvet (Bai Jin) reinterpreted Chinese traditional classics with Christian thought, and interpreted Christianity with Chinese traditional classics, thus establishing the connection between the two, which was the early attempt of the interpretation of scripture. His ideas have been criticized in both traditions and have been questioned and neglected for a long time. However, their studies do have positive significance, such as gaining a certain legal basis for the spread of Catholicism, objectively promoting the study of Sinology in Europe, and making obvious contributions to the cultural exchanges between China and the West. In the process of modern communication between Chinese tradition and Christian tradition, the ideas and research path of Figurists have always had an influence. This paper selects a few of them to illustrate. During the period of the Republic of China, Canadian missionary Ming Yishi adopted the analysis method of Chinese character glyph, and studied inscriptions on bone inscriptions from the perspective of religious teaching. Wei yisa, the second generation leader of the True Jesus Church, which was founded in 1917, adopted the idea of number concealment to construct the doctrine and interpret the classics, which once again triggered the judgment and reflection on the number concealment method. Professor Tian Tongxin of Jinling Union Theological Seminary conducted a study on the Book of Yijing and the Bible, which is a further expansion of the study of the Figurists. This paper attempts to discuss the research path and influence of the chingists, and tries to make a more objective evaluation, hoping to arouse interest in its critical inheritance, and bring new inspiration to the study of the Sinicization of Christianity.
