摘要

Due to facing anomalous climate change, there is a new trend to develop innovative methods and technologies of using environmental friendly materials. Bamboo is one of the considerations. Bamboo is a local material which is abundant and easily obtainable in Taiwan. Since a long time ago, bamboo has been used as a construction material for the structure; beam column, and roof. The objective of this study is to review the use of bamboo as construction material in terms of bamboo usage, methods and construction of bamboo material in both traditional and contemporary architecture. This research is a literature review which uses descriptive, comparative, correlative, and qualitative analyses. Case studies of traditional bamboo usage in this study are Amis house, Thao house, Atayal house and Tsou house. Meanwhile case studies of contemporary bamboo architecture are Zhulu bamboo house, Dixin gazebo, bamboo gazebo and Butterfly dream pavilion. The results of this study indicate that the traditional bamboo construction methods are applied in some aspects of contemporary bamboo architecture. The major differences between traditional and contemporary bamboo architecture are the efficiency of its construction methods, the effectiveness to prevent damage from moisture and insects, and the ability of contemporary bamboo architecture to make organic forms. The contemporary construction methods can construct more durable bamboo buildings with higher resistance to direct sunlight and water, when compared to traditional bamboo architecture. This study can improve the understanding and knowledge about the correlation between traditional and contemporary bamboo in Taiwan.

由於面臨異常的氣候變化，開發使用環保材料的創新方法和技術出現了新趨勢。竹子是考慮因素之一。竹子是一種在台灣很豐富且容易獲得的當地材料。很久以前，竹子就被用作結構的建築材料；樑柱和屋頂。本研究的目的是從竹材的使用、方法和竹材在傳統和現代建築中的構造方面回顧竹材作為建築材料的使用。本研究是使用描述性、比較性、相關性和定性分析的文獻綜述。本研究中傳統竹子使用的案例研究是阿美族屋、邵族屋、泰雅族屋和鄒族屋。同時當代竹建築的案例研究有竹廬竹屋、地心涼亭、竹涼亭和蝴蝶夢亭。這項研究的結果表明，傳統的竹建築方法在當代竹建築的某些方面得到了應用。傳統竹建築與現代竹建築的主要區別在於其建造方法的效率、防止水分和蟲害的有效性以及當代竹建築製作有機形式的能力。與傳統竹建築相比，現代建築方法可以建造更耐用、抗陽光直射和防水的竹建築。這項研究可以提高對台灣傳統竹與現代竹之間相關性的理解和認識。
