本文探討星雲大師人間佛教的理念與實踐在領導學領域所能提供的指導,並嘗試集結其人間佛教論述中所見的成功領導者特質。首先,列舉西方道德領導實務界盛行諸派如僕人式領導、生命力領導、德行領導的核心價值,作為探索人間佛教之道德領導的參考架構。這些道德領導流派主要植基於基督宗教的倫理觀,輔以西方哲學的美德觀念,都同意品德涵養可助益領導效能。人間佛教重視對社會人生各類活動提供佛教的倫理指引,對管理與領導也多所論說。統整相關資料,歸納出星雲大師的領導理念有五:(一)最高管理,管理内心:帶人帶心,領導者從修養自心做起,感動追隨者,自身言行為追隨者表率,達到各個成員的自主管理。(二)被領導學,僕人精神:從被領導過程中累積領導經驗,謙沖為懷,服務為先,同行共事,使整體組織和諧融洽,人人高度參與。(三)提供願景,集體創作:具備遠大願景,設定組織使命,與追隨者充分溝通,取得大眾的信賴與認同,朝向共同目標而獻身努力。(四)人性領導,尊重包容:尊重被領導者的完整人格,信任授權,體恤包容,以啟動團隊成員的自覺努力與合作精神。(五)德行領導,正身治人:具備高尚品德,實行仁義管理,展現道德領導的核心價值。
This article explores the guidance of Venerable Master Xingyun's idea and practice of Humanistic Buddhism for the field of leadership, and tries the assemble the characteristics of his success scattered in his works. First, it gives a brief account about the values of the servant-like leadership, life leadership, and virtue leadership style popular in the industry, hoping to provide a framework for the discussion of moral leadership of Humanistic Buddhism. All those main-stream leadership theories are based on the ethics of Christianity and the virtue concept of Western philosophy, both agreeing that morality enhances the effects of leadership. Humanistic Buddhism is able to offer ethical guidance in all kinds the human activities, and in particular in the respects of Management and Leadership. A survey of the relevant sources, five points of Leadership can be summed up from the Venerable Master's thought: 1) the highest management is to control the mind-lead people by heart-to-heart approach by cultivating one's own mind so to move others to follow one's example; 2) passive leadership with servant attitude-be humble, work with others and keep a harmonious team work; 3) working together with other members to form a vision; 4) understanding leadership with a mutual respect; 5) lead others by virtue and morality.
