摘要

星雲大師所講的人間佛教是廣義的人間佛教，而不是狹義的人間佛教，也不是學界所認為的當代中國佛教。所謂廣義的人間佛教是指回歸到以人為本的、傳統的、根本佛教教理上來的人間佛教。大師說：「人間佛教不是佛光山自創，人間佛教的理念來自佛陀，因為佛陀出生在人間，修行在人間，成道在人間，度化眾生在人間，一切以人間為主。因此，教主本身就是人間佛陀，他所傳的就是人間佛教。」大師又說：「所謂『人間佛教』，需要具有人間性、利他性、喜樂性、生活性、普濟性、淨化性；所謂『人間佛教』，應該是以菩提心為主，以菩薩道為行，向上、向前、向真、向善、向究竟圓滿的佛道邁進。」因為大師所講的人間佛教是以信仰為主的佛教，所以大師在〈人間佛教的藍圖〉一文的一開始就講道：「本文的主旨不在高談人間佛教的理論，也不拘泥於一般學術論文的格式，只是有感於過去學者們常把佛教的理論搬來搬去，說是論非，分歧思想，造成佛教的四分五裂，殊為可惜。其實，佛教本來就是『唯有一乘法，無二亦無三』，道理不在辯解，而重在同一信仰。」本文就從星雲大師在近十年來出版的有關人間佛教書籍的思想說起。

Humanistic Buddhism promoted by Master Xingyun is in its broad sense rather than its narrow sense, nor is it what the scholars believe to be Contemporary Chinese Buddhism. The broad sense is that which returns to the focus on mankind, tradition, and fundamental teachings [of the Buddha]. The Master says. ＂Humanistic Buddhism was not invented by the Foguang shan, it comes from the Buddha, since he was born, pursued and obtained enlightenment, and served beings all in human world; every events centred on humanity. So as a founder of Buddhism, he is a Buddha of mankind, and what he preached is Humanistic Buddhism.＂ This paper sums up the Master's thoughts published in recent ten years, with a special reference to his ＂A Blueprint of Humanistic Buddhism＂.
