「人間佛教」的現代心性論和修行論

On the Modern Mind-nature Theory and Practice Ways of Humanistic Buddhism

摘要


心性論一直是中國佛教的核心理論,人間佛教對心性論做了不同於傳統佛教的現代詮釋,太虛、印順等大師對佛教各宗派的心性問題做了系統的判釋和整合,從而掃除了中國佛教在心性論上的分歧,而將佛教實踐之重心放到如何在堅持佛法根本之下,推動佛法適應新時代。人間佛教對心性論的現代詮釋主要表現在如下幾方面:以提升人性、發達人生為著力點;具有社會意識,將人性提升與社會改造相結合;賦予心性、淨土以新的內涵;將佛教的修行實踐落實於人間經驗之中。人間佛教對心性論的現代闡釋也決定了它在修行功夫論上具備鮮明的現代性特徵,也即人間性、生活性、倫理性、喜樂性、融合性和開放性。

Mind-nature theory is one of the core theories in Chinese Buddhism, humanistic Buddhism has a modern interpretation about the mind-nature theory which is different from the traditional Buddhism. The master Taixu and Yinshun made systematical interpretation and integration to the mind-nature theories of the various sectarians in Buddhism, so as to eliminate the differences in mind-nature theories , so the center task of Buddhist practices becomes how to promote Buddhism to adapt to modern society in the premise of insisting the fundamental Buddha teachings. Humanistic Buddhism mainly made modern interpretation of mind-nature theory in the following aspects: to improve the human nature and life as the focal point; emphasize social consciousness, combine the improvement of human nature with social transformation, renew the meanings of pure land and mind-nature; practice Buddha way in human experience; and so on. The modern interpretation of the mind-nature theory also determines that humanistic Buddhism has its obvious modern characteristics in the practice ways, namely, the nature of human, life, ethics, happiness, fusion and openness.
