摘要

中國歷史上北方民族的活動對於中華民族的形成、發展和鞏固發揮了極其重要的作用。這些民族南下漢地，以至建立政權，統一中國，無例外地接觸、接受佛教。佛教在中國的發展中已成為中國傳統文化的載體，接受佛教對於北方民族提高文明水準，進而對於促進他們與漢地以漢族為主體的廣大民眾的交流與融合發揮了重大的、不可替代的積極作用。

The activities of the northern ethnic groups in Chinese history have played an extremely important role in the formation, development and consolidation of the Chinese nation. In their journey went south to the Han Chinese mainland and merge with the Han group, the northern ethnic groups established political power, unified China, contacted and accepted Buddhism without exception. Buddhism has become the carrier of the traditional Chinese culture in the development of China.
