Experimental Research on Coagulation Performance of PAC-PDMDAAC Composite Flocculant in Treating the Pi River

PAC-PDMDAAC複合絮凝劑處理淠河水混凝性能研究

Polyaluminum chloride (PAC) and polydimethyldiallylammonium chloride (PDMDAAC) were used as raw materials to prepare composite coagulant. The effects of PAC-PDMDAAC composite ratio, dosage of composite coagulant and pH value of water sample on turbidity and UV_(254) removal efficiency were investigated in this paper. The results showed that the turbidity of raw water was less than 10 NTU, the removal efficiency of turbidity and UV_(254) by PAC-PDMDAAC composite coagulant with a composite ratio of 30:1 and above had little difference, but the removal efficiency was obviously higher than that of PAC coagulant. With the increase of PAC-PDMDAAC composite coagulant dosage, the removal of UV_(254) and turbidity were improved. When ratio of PAC and PDMDAAC was 70:1, the dosage was 7 mg/L, the removal of UV_(254) and turbidity were the best. With the increase of pH value, the removal of the PAC-PDMDAAC composite coagulant for turbidity first increased and then decreased. Within the range of pH 7.0~7.5, the remaining turbidity was the lowest, and the removal reached 90.06%. The removal of UV_(254) showed a downward trend. When the pH value was 6, the removal was higher, reaching 58.64%. It indicated that PAC-PDMDAAC composite coagulant was more suitable for the removal of UV_(254) and turbidity in low turbidity water than that of PAC.
