The Relationship between Women Image and The Development of Film Festival in "Women Make Waves Film Festival"

The purpose of this research is to find out the relationship between the representation of female characters and the development of women's film festival in Taiwan. The first Asian feminist film festival "Taiwan International Women's Film Festival" was held in 1993. It's also the first film festival to tour around Taiwan. This shows the importance and representativeness of this film festival. In addition to eliminating the gap between rural and urban areas in video education, the women's film festival also uses video works to reveal the diversity of gender issues and different aspects of women. Since the development of the Taiwan International Women's Film Festival, the number of creations and exhibitions related to women's images has increased year after year, and it has become a social trend. However, as times have changed and film festivals have evolved, the female characters presented in the festival have taken on a contemporary significance. The first stage of this study explores the history and evolution of women's film festivals in Taiwan, while the second stage explores the contemporary connotations behind the female characters presented in women's film festivals, as a way of organizing and discussing the stages, and complementing the research on women's film festivals with the purpose of this study. The first stage of this study explores the history and evolution of women's film festivals in Taiwan. The second stage explores the contemporary connotations behind the female characters presented in women's film festivals, as a way of organizing and discussing them in stages, and to complement the research on women's film festivals. In the end, it is concluded that women's film festivals are closely linked to the women's liberation movement, and the themes of women's film festivals have become more diversified as women's awareness has increased. Women's issues are no longer a serious issue but a part of everyone's life.
