臺灣文化消費供需與表演藝術實踐現況之觀察和思考

The Observation and Thinking of the Supply-Demand of Cultural Consumption and the Present Status of Performing Arts Practice in Taiwan

摘要


表演藝術的實踐不僅仰賴藝術家的內在靈感與渴望,更始終因其作為一種文化的表現形式與存在,而必然涉及諸如:觀眾的理解、審美偏好、潮流跟隨、以及其他外部社會文化、經濟與政治的意識形態和現況⋯⋯等等因素。換言之,表演藝術在意義創製與溝通的實踐上,絕不僅是分享,更包含衝突,一種在文化研究上被視為是「文化與權力的衝突」。而在現代消費社會的邏輯中,則經常被化約為「經濟利益的衝突」。本研究即是在上述的概念基礎上,透過經濟學、社會學、政策分析、文化消費等理論,分別由「市場交易」、「政策」、「文化權」等三個面向,觀察分析表演藝術的實踐與文化消費的「供給」和「需求」的形成、運作、存在和排除之相互關係,藉以勾勒出消費社會的「文化與權力的衝突」(或「經濟利益的衝突」),如何影響並造就臺灣當前的表演藝術發展現況。

The practice of performing arts is not just relying on the personal inspirations and desires of artists, but, as a consequence of it’s being a cultural manifestation and existence, also involve external factors, for example viewer's interpretation, aesthetic preferences, trends following, in addition to the ideology and status of culture, economy and politics, etc. In other words, the meaning creation and communication of practice in the performing arts, is not simply to share, but also to conflict, a "conflict between cultural and power" from the cultural study's viewpoint. However, in the logic of modern consumer society, the conflict is usually reduced to "conflict of economic interest". On the conceptual basis of the above, this study will observe and analyze the relationships between the practice of performing arts and the formations, operations, existence, and elimination of the supply-demand of cultural consumption, from the aspects of "market transactions", "policy", and "cultural rights" respectively and through the theories of economics, sociology, policy analysis, and cultural consumption, in order to outline how the "conflict between culture and power" (or "conflict of economic interest") of consumer society to influence and accomplish the current development status of the performing arts in Taiwan.
