研究目的:老化導致口腔狀況改變,再加上失能,口腔清潔須依賴他人協助。台灣外籍照顧人力逐年增加,不同文化可能影響外籍照護者對於老人口腔照護。本研究旨在探討外籍照護移工照顧失能老人之口腔衛生知識及影響因素。研究方法:本研究為橫斷式相關性研究,採立意取樣,針對143位中台灣的印尼籍、越南籍照護移工進行問卷調查。以獨立樣本t檢定、變異數分析、皮爾森相關、多元迴歸等進行統計分析。結果:(1)外籍照護移工的口腔衛生知識低分(M = 17.50, SD = 2.53)。(2)教育程度(F = 4.24, p < .05)、自覺口腔狀況(t = 13.17, p < .01)及工作場域與口腔衛生知識有顯著差異。(3)本次照顧年資(r = .21, p < .01)、口腔教育課程次數(r = .27, p < .01)與口腔衛生知識有正相關。(4)工作場域(β = .37, p < .01)及教育程度(β = .16, p < .05)對於口腔衛生知識具有解釋力。結論:外籍照護移工的口腔衛生知識仍有進步空間,實務上應隨著外籍照顧服務員的學習狀況、熟悉語言及文化背景,設計外語口腔相關課程,以提升學習成果。家庭照護移工缺乏持續教育訓練更是一大隱憂,建議可增加多媒體的學習管道,以消除家庭場域照顧移工在職訓練的時空限制,提供更多彈性的資訊途徑,提升外籍照護者之知識與能力,進而促進照護品質。
Objective: Aging leads to changes in oral conditions, coupled with disability, oral hygiene must rely on the assistance of others. Currently, Taiwan's long-term care employees are mainly from Southeast Asian countries because of culture difference and various factors may affect long-term care employees' knowledge on oral care for the elderly. This study aims to explore the affecting factors on foreign care workers' oral hygiene knowledge. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional correlational research design. 143 Indonesian care workers and Vietnamese care workers were recruited by oral hygiene knowledge questionnaires. Data was analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis. Results: (1) Poor oral hygiene knowledge on foreign caregivers (M = 17.50, SD = 2.53). (2)Education, workplace and personal oral condition were found to be significantly with oral hygiene knowledge. (3) "Current work experience" (r = .208, p < .01) and "oral education" (r = .270, p < .01) were significantly correlated with oral hygiene knowledge. (4) Workplace (β = .37, p < .01) and education (β = .16, p < .05) was two major affecting factors to Oral hygiene knowledge. Conclusion: The results of this study indicated that oral hygiene knowledge of foreign care workers must be improved. Based on the learning status, familiar language and cultural background of the foreign caregivers to add oral related courses. In addition, the of appropriate media can remove practical restrictions for home care foreign caregivers. The results of the study can be a reference to improve the knowledge and promote the quality of care.
