This research is about strength analyses of the competition seats which were made by composite materials. In order to meet the standard of the rear impact tests required by FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile), we tried to improve the strength of the competition seats. By using the finite element analysis software, ABAQUS, for simulation, the more detailed information of the acceptable acceleration of the seats would be obtained. Moreover, we increased the thickness of the seats both uniformly and locally to see if the strength of the seats will be raised. From the experiment mentioned above, both of the change increased the strength of the seats. To take weight factors into consideration, it is better to increase the thickness locally other than uniformly even though it will increase the local thickness as well. However, the thickness problems will be easily solved by replacing more strengthened materials for the seats.
