According to the statistics revealed by World Health Organization (WHO), it is estimated that there are above 350 million people suffered from depression globally. Although there are tons of hospital outpatient/inpatient service, counseling service and suicide prevention centers, which provide regular appointment, use depression screening questionnaire to help patients recover or even pay a close attention to those who are under high risk of suicide, the result of suicide prevention is not satisfactory. For psychiatrist and counselor, apart from regular inquiry, self-report depression screening questionnaire is the main approach to assist in depression tracking, analysis and diagnosis. It’s flawed to provide objective data for long term condition tracking and the accuracy would be even biased by patient’s concealment. With the technology and ubiquitous healthcare development, wearable device based medical application becomes popular. This paper aims at proposing a wearable device assisted doctor-patient management platform, which is able to collect behavioral data from patients through mobile sensors. It could complement the drawbacks of self-report questionnaire by further processing the collected data with an algorithm and providing the results to psychiatrist and counselor in assisting depression diagnosis.
