The past thesis about foreign direct investment (FDI) or outward foreign direct investment(OFDI) mainly focused on issues such as MNEs paying higher salary, spillover effect on wage, wage inequality, etc. This article compares the degree of influence of FDI and OFDI on the wages of Taiwanese laborers simultaneously, and discusses whether it is one of the factors lead to the stagnation of wage growth, and whether it also leads to wage inequality. The empirical result shows that FDI has a significant positive impact on the skilled workers’ wage, while OFDI has a significant negative impact; the effect of FDI inflows on non-skilled workers’ salaries is not significant, while OFDI has a significant negative impact. OFDI has significant negative impacts on both skilled workers and non-skilled workers, and it is greater than FDI does. This also explains the stagnation of salary growth in Taiwan. OFDIs have significant negative impacts, and the extent of reduction is greater than the extent of FDI's positive impact on salary, which also explains the stagnation of salary growth in Taiwan. Comparing OFDI influence on skilled workers and unskilled workers, we can find that OFDI's impact on unskilled workers is greater than skilled laborers, so we confirm that OFDI has expanded the wage inequality.
