摘要


毫微微型蜂巢式(Femtocell)基地台是為了克服室內環境通訊品質不良而誕生的產品,以通訊產品發展的角度而言,Femtocell基地台具有低功率、即插即用、低成本與強化行動寬頻網路的室內覆蓋率等諸多優勢,所以躍升成新世代無線通訊產品的寵兒。 個案公司是台灣唯一開發出3G Femtocell基頻晶片完整解決方案的新創IC設計公司,藉由個案公司的研究、資料蒐集,並結合產業現況、市場發展趨勢及文獻分析,探討新創IC設計公司如何運用其競爭優勢和產品策略來面對即將邁入產品生命成長期的市場,以及目前台灣廠商對於Femtocell關鍵技術的掌握和所面臨的瓶頸。

Femtocell base station is developed to overcome the poor indoor communication quality. The advantages of Femtocell are many, including low-power, plug-and-play, low cost and indoor coverage enhancement of mobile broadband network. Thus, it has become the most popular wireless communication product of the next generation. The company is the only IC design house in Taiwan that has developed complete solutions based on 3G Femtocell baseband chips. Through company research, data collection, market study and literature reviews, this paper explores the opportunities of how a start-up IC design house can leverage its competitive strength and product strategy to tackle with a market that will soon enter the growth stage of its product lifecycle. The paper will also discuss the knowledge and challenges of Taiwanese companies on key technologies of Femtocell.
