Identifying Influential Individuals through Subjects in Social Media

Every successful social media has accumulated a lot of users. A user can post an article to elaborate his/her opinion or thought. However, the subjects may vary a great deal. Some users operate their account on a specific topic, and their opinion may lead to a large number of followers. Comparing to other (and more casual) users, they would attract discussions or even influence other users’ perception about the topic. We call these users“Influential Social Individuals on Specific Subjects”. In our research, we propose an algorithm to help a casual user find the“Influential Social Individuals on Specific Subjects” through a simple searching flow. We also provide analysis tools so that further observation and study on the search results can be made.
