摘要


隨著通訊技術的發展,目前mobile WiMAX的技術已漸趨發展完成且已經於市面上銷售。然而由於高額的設備,目前mobile WiMAX實測方面的研究論文並不常見。不同於大部分用理論及模擬的方式探討調速機制的論文,這篇論文裡,我們用實測的方式來探討調變編碼及天線方法的選擇。我們在室內的環境下實測了各種調變編碼與不同天線方法的效能。由實測的結果我們建立了兩種不同策略的聯合多輸入多輸出調變編碼選擇的機制,並將此兩種機制運用於Mobile WiMAX中的不同的服務品質。最後我們發表的調速機制使用以高吞吐量為策略的聯合多輸入多輸出調變編碼選擇的機制在盡力服務的服務品質類別上,而其他的服務類別則使用以確保一定封包遺失率為策略的聯合多輸入多輸出調變編碼選擇的機制。我們將此調速機制和原來WiMAX機台裡的調速機制比較下傳使用者資料包通訊協定及影片串流的效能。測試的結果發現不管是單獨傳輸上述任一種下傳資料型態或是同時傳輸上述兩種得下傳資料型態,我們發表的調速機制都能有較好的整體效能。

As one of the broadband wireless communication solutions, Mobile WiMAX has been developed and already in markets in recent years. However, due to the price of WiMAX equipments, little research is based on the measurement approach. In this paper, we focus on the MCS and MIMO selection of Mobile WiMAX by measurement-based approach. Unlike previous works study the MIMO selection with rate adaptation based on theoretical and simulated approach. We provided the on-air measurement result of each MCS with specific MIMO mode in indoor environments. Then, we set up two joint MIMO MCS selection mechanisms according to different strategies based on the on-air measurement results, and we combined these two joint MIMO MCS selection with different quality of service (QoS) types into the mechanism which we called as ``hybrid joint MIMO MCS selection". We compared the hybrid joint MIMO MCS selection with the original rate adaptation in our WiMAX base station by UDP, video streaming and multi-traffic experiments. The results show that the performance improves with the help of joint MIMO selection accompanying with different selection strategy. We also concluded and discuss some issue about this joint MIMO MCS selection mechanism.
