The main purpose of this thesis is to develop a maximum-power generation control of single-axis sun tracking PV system to optimize power generation. The present study develops a single-axis maximum-power generation technique (1A-MPG) which tracks the sun for best stopping angle every hour. This stopping angle can reduce the shading or obtain the maximum solar radiation, in order to minimize the effect of environment disturbance and maximize power generation. The long-term test in high building results show that the overall PV energy generation can increase 6.2% in spring and autumn, 12.6% in summer and 33.7% in winter by using 1A-MPG compared to one-axis three-position sun tracking PV (1A-3P). Nonetheless, the test in complex home environment results show that overall PV energy generation by using radiation filtering direct search method compared to fixed-angle PV system increased by 68%, and compared to 1A-3P increased by 21%.
