LTE eMBMS 需求暨用戶體驗特質導向的多串流資源分配演算法

摘要


在LTE現行的標準與佈建中,LTE 演進式多媒體廣播群播服務(LTE eMBMS)在有效率的提供多媒體服務中扮演重要的角色。於LTE網路中,現行的多媒體流量以巨量的方式增長,因此必須要有一個有效的方法來處理這些暴漲的流量。而eMBMS則是目前傳送此種類型串流的方法中,為一個最有效率的傳送方式,其能夠一次將資料在同樣的時間同樣的資源,傳給多個使用者,因此大幅的增進頻道使用效率。然而,此類型的研究已有不少的研究圍繞在靜態的eMBMS資源分配上,比如以各種方式最佳化系統吞吐量或者是公平性。在2014年中,一個需求導向的群播服務概念,在LTE的標準規範(specification)中被提出,如此便能動態的依據現有的頻寬/使用者需求,去調整當下用來傳播資料的資源。也就是這種需求導向的MBMS操作(MBMS-operation-on-demand),能夠動態的依據立即的需求,而重新組態資源分配。因此,這開啟了新的LTE eMBMS研究方向,而且非常有助於解決現今高漲的網際網路流量。 而最近幾年的多媒體研究中表示,用戶體驗特質(Quality-of-Experience)可以大幅精準地預測使用者滿意度與使用者的參與程度。因此我們遵循一篇非常有名且大規模的QoE網際網路系統實驗,將用戶體驗量尺當作我們的系統評估量尺,並把我們的研究建構成一個資源最佳化的問題。而為了最大化這個需求導向的LTE群播服務,我們提出了一個需求導向的分配方法,其中他能夠依據現行的直播串流之需求,與系統通道的狀況,去動態調整資源分配以最大化使用者的體驗特質。最後,我們比較了我們的方法與其他人的研究,而我們的方法達到最高的用戶體驗特質;同時呈現我們的方法無論資源充裕與否,都可最有效的使用資源以最大化使用者的體驗特質。

In recent standardizations and deployment of LTE, the LTE eMBMS(enhanced-Multimedia-Broadcast-and-Multicast-Service) takes an important role which acts as an efficient way to provide multimedia service. In LTE network, recent multimedia traffic becomes larger and larger so that there must be an efficient method to handle these huge traffics. The eMBMS is the most efficient way to cast the data to UEs in same resource at the same time, which improve a lot in spectrum efficiency. Conventionally, most recently researches focus on static resource allocation to optimize the system throughput or fairness. In 2014, a multicast on demand concept which enables the dynamical resource configuration, has been presented in LTE specifications. These MBMS-operation-on-demand(MooD) enable eNBs to dynamically reconfigure the allocating resource according to the demand of service at once. Therefore, it will open up new research directions of LTE eMBMS and really help to handle the huge internet traffic nowadays. Recent multimedia studies show that Quality-of-Experience(QoE) can present more accurately user's level of satisfaction. We follow the metrics of one well-known QoE experiment, and model our work as an resource optimization problem. In order to maximize QoE in the LTE on demand multicast, we proposed an on-demand resource allocation method which efficiently utilize resource based on both the demand of live streaming and channel conditions to maximize the user's QoE. We compare our method with other works and our method achieves highest QoE utility and show its strong efficiency whenever resource is sufficient or not.
