A method for suppressing the harmonic of a coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed slot antenna is presented. The suppression is achieved by inserting a pair of inverted-L shaped metal stub in the slot near the feeding CPW, which forms a wide-band band-stop resonator. The performances of the proposed antenna are similar to those of the reference an-tenna (the slot antenna without the L-shaped stubs) at the fundamental frequency. Har-monics are suppressed at least to the third harmonic frequency. Compared with the other harmonic suppression methods, the proposed design not only has good insertion loss, kept the antenna shape, low cost, but also being easier to fabricate. Both of the capacitive and inductive feeding CPW-fed slot antenna can achieve the harmonic suppression by the proposed method.
