應用低軌道衛星電波掩星技術重建溫度與電子密度分布

Reconstruction of Temperature and Electron Number Density Distributions with Radio Occultation Technique on LEO Satellites

摘要


在本研究中,我們利用電波掩星技術來重建電離層的電子密度與地球表面的溫度分布,且發展一種射線追蹤 (ray-tracing) 技術計算在不同的衛星佈署情況下的電磁波傳播路徑。我們也提出一種修正的Abel transform來改善折射率分布重建時的準確度。最後想定兩組以相反方向運行的低軌道衛星,來模擬溫度與電子密度的分布,並驗證重建分布在解析度與準確度上的可能改善情況。

The radio occultation technique is implemented to reconstruct the electron number density in the ionosphere and the temperature distribution on the Earth surface. A ray-tracing technique is developed to simulate wave propagation in different scenarios of satellite deployments. A modified Abel transform is proposed to improve the reconstruction accuracy of refractivity profile. Two sets of LEO satellites flying in opposite senses are simulated to check possible improvement on resolution and accuracy of reconstructed profiles.
