從建設性新聞學觀點審視媒體對社會爭議事件的報導—以Uber在臺灣的爭議為例

摘要

本研究以建設性新聞學的理論概念，建構出建設性新聞學的兩個指標，並將符合標準的樣本以意義框架進行分類，進而審視Uber在台灣所引起的一連串社會問題的時序中，《自由時報電子報》、《聯合報》以及《風傳媒》三個媒體，如何以建設性的角度報導此一爭議事件。
根據研究結果，在本爭議事件中，《自由時報電子報》達成建設性指標的比例整體較為低落，同時在表現Uber方的創新想法時，建設性的表現與其他兩媒體有表現上的明顯落差。《聯合報》達成建設性指標的整體比例則為最好，而《風傳媒》達成建設性指標的比例則相對在前述兩報間遊走。
本研究發現，「建設性」的概念不僅僅是對於新聞工作的專業要求標準之一，「建設性」本身也可能是政治化的結果，因為媒體在決定以什麼角度去政治化一社會爭議事件時，便可能影響了一爭議事件在媒體上所能展現的建設性潛力。

This study uses the theoretical concepts of constructive journalism to construct two indicators of constructive journalism, and classifies the news samples that meet the criteria into meaning frames. Then it examines the sequence of a series of social problems caused by Uber in Taiwan. How did the three Liberty Times Net, UDN News, and The Storm Media respectively report this controversial event from a constructive perspective.
The results show that in this controversial event, the overall percentage of constructive indicators achieved by Liberty Times Net was relatively low. Meanwhile, when it comes to expressing Uber ’s innovative ideas, the constructive performance is particularly low in comparison. The overall percentage of constructive indicators achieved by UDN News is the best, while the percentage of that achieved by The Storm Media is in between.
This study finds that the concept of "constructiveness" is not only one of the professional requirements for journalism. Also, "constructiveness" itself may also be the result of politicization, because the media decides how to politicize a controversial event. Therefore, it may affect the potential for constructiveness when reporting controversial event in the media.
