In the BGG category O of representations for a Lie superalgebra, Gorelik [J. Amer. Math. Soc.15 (2002), 167-184] proved that every block of strongly typical weight is equivalent to a block of the BGG category of the underlying Lie algebra. We prove for Lie superalgebra B(m|1) that a typical block is equivalent to a strongly typical block by applying translation functors to suitable tilting modules and computing the resulting characters. This gives a solution to the irreducible character problem of typical weight for the category O for Lie superalgebra B(m|1).
