頻寬變動網路之服務品質保證

QoS guarantee for Variable Total Bandwidth Network

摘要


嵌入式系統在今天變得越來越普遍。其上的許多應用程式在執行時需要連接到網路,例如當我們收看網路影片時就需要透過網路取得影片。此外,這些嵌入式系統通常是處在一個變動頻寬的網路環境。在這個情況下,如何確保服務品質是一個值得研究的議題。在這篇論文中,我們將提出一個網路服務品質保證框架。透過我們的框架,程式設計者可以更容易預測程式在執行時的網路使用行為,如此一來能提供使用者更好的使用者經驗。面對變動的網路頻寬環境,我們引入機率來描述網路的品質。另一方面,我們的網路服務品質保證框架是利用虛擬化的技術建構的。而虛擬化技術可以使我們不必修改作業系統,如此一來會有比較好的移植性。

Embedded systems become more and more popular today. Many of applications and services on them have to connect to network such as media streaming. Besides, these embedded systems are usually in a dynamic bandwidth network environment. In this situation, how to guarantee service quality of those applications using network is an important topic. This research aims at the design of a network quality of service framework. With network quality of service framework, service developer could predict the service run-time behavior easily and users could get a better user experience. Facing the dynamic bandwidth network environment,we use probability to describe network quality of service. Besides, we build our network quality of service framework with virtualization technology. With virtualization technology, in our framework, we need not to modify the operating system.
