The requirement of the development of mill-turn machine technology is more urgent to promote the efficiency of the machining process. The advantages of developing mill-turn technology are to shorten the machining time, improve the product precision of finished parts and reduce the dependency on the technical staffs. It is certainly helpful to develop the mill-turn whole technology in this thesis. This research establishes a CAM system which includes a user interface, feature recognition function and tool path planning. After finishing the path planning, this system can output a text file of a part machining information with the manufacturing code, tool data for setup and stock material size for a mill-turn machine.
