非單調之中介表面

摘要


由facade、elevation、surface這些的名詞差異,可以了解到對於建築皮層不同的解釋,比方說:由現代主義運用透明材料詮釋建築內與外的穿透關聯、後現代主義的裝飾外表、解構建築的奇特形貌與表面無深度性到當代對於超表面的探討。以往因為材料、技術、與工法的限制,使得表面與結構呈現脫離的狀態;如今在科技的輔助之下,建築的結構與立面得以形成一體。因此,本研究希望藉由討論區隔空間牆體之「基模」,解構與鬆動基模中的元素以重新定義表面的多元性。試圖透過構築的觀點闡述表面亦有可能成為結構的建築設計方式,結合表面、結構與空間三者的特性,探討相鄰兩空間被區隔之「新表面」的可能性。 依賴電腦繪圖軟體的運算優勢與數位構築的精準度,建築外觀形貌得以突破以往的空間形態,而架構在此工具的方法下,設計者可以專注在整體與細部的幾何構成,以創造出更具藝術表現性的建築。本研究希望藉由數位工具的輔助,探討單元與其集合體所群聚之構築方法,並試圖將花紋或裝飾視為涵構與文化的基礎,結合幾何與材料來表現空間的效果,與以往裝飾的侷限意涵不同,希望傳達出更為開放的意義以詮釋建築表面。 本研究以傳統木、磚、石、水泥、鋼鐵、玻璃材料的構築案例為基礎,架構出傳統制式材料表面的基模,對照當代以數位媒材所設計的超表面案例,從其中的相似與差異的因子整理出關於建築表面的詮釋方法,並視為解構基模的設計元素,作為下階段設計操作的依據。第一階段將以解構表面開始,鬆動傳統窗、門、牆中的基模元素,並嘗試將紋路與裝飾內化為空間單元,轉變成集體構築的效果,以非窗、門、與牆重新定義「非」制式表面的可能性。第二階段則延續之前的單元,在增加變異因子後重新設計或組構成臨時性的空間,試圖探討由單元幾何轉變為結構細部的表面設計,與其由裝飾轉變為結構支撐的可能。最後,將針對論文中的設計關於幾何、材料、軟體、與設備各部份的優劣做討論。從而整理與架構關於超表面的新基模,後續研究如果可以加入基地涵構與文化向度的討論,將可以成為未來研究的重要方向。

To distinguish the following three words – facade, elevation, surface – is beneficial to acknowledge that there are some kinds of differences about explaining this collective noun -- the skin of architecture. Such as the modernist’s interpretation of the penetration and the correlation between inside/outside of buildings by making use of transparent material, the post-modernism’s ornament with surface, the deconstructionists’ odd form and non-deepness of building’s surface and the treatments of hyper-surface in contemporary days. As a result of been bounded by materials, technology and construction, the surface came off the structure in former times. However, with the modern technology, we can integrate the surface and the structure into a whole one now. Therefore, in this research, we can deconstruct the elements in a typical “wall” schema to deliberating new definitions for the wall. Then we can achieve the goal –- redefine the diversification of the surface. Try to explicate that the surface could also be the new method for construction in architecture design. Combine the features of surface, structure and space to find the possibilities of the new surface defined by two adjacent spaces. To count on the number crunching advantage of computer and accurately digital tectonic, the facade of building could break through the previous definitions of space. And under this method, the designer could focus on geometric construction either ensemble or detail to create overwhelming artistic architecture. It is our ambition in this research that by assistant of digital tools, we can treat collective tectonic method between module and assemblage. And try to take pattern and ornament as the bedrock of context and culture. Combine geometry and material to spread out the effect of space. The most important thought to convey is that with much more open meaning to describe the surface of architecture, it is different with the past confine meaning of ornamentation. This research takes the case studies of tectonics with traditional material such as woods, bricks, rocks, cement, iron-steel-glasses as groundwork. To frame the schema with traditional material surface and contrast it with hyper-surface case which was designed by digital media in contemporary days. Through the comparison of similar elements and dissimilar elements to cast the interpretive method for architecture surfaces. To regard the method as the design element about deconstruction of wall-schema and also regard the method as standard in next design stage. Deconstructing the surface will start the first step. To loosen the schema elements which in traditional are window, door and wall. Try to invest the pattern and ornament, and modify it into a new space module, shifting the artistry into collective tectonic. Redefine the possibilities of new systems for surface by de-window, door and wall. The second step is extending the fore-module. After increasing the variables of element, redesign or construct the space module into a temporary space. Try to treat that surface design of the transformation from module-geometric into structural-detail and the possibilities for the shift of ornament into structure. The last step, directing the design of this research, discuss the excellence and flaw about geometric, material, software and equipment. Thus we can cast and construct the new schema of hyper-surface. The following study will play a significant role in the future if the discussion of contextlism and culture-dimension are incorporated.
