The diplomatic battle between Beijing and Taipei is disputed in Latin America and the Caribbean, and this is not only due to the acquisition of new markets and deposits of natural resources that guarantee sufficient raw materials, but also to obtain the diplomatic recognition of these countries. In this sense, Central America and specifically Nicaragua, who has historically been Taiwan's diplomatically, is threatened by exogenous factors that could limit bilateral cooperation between the two nations and persuaded by the investment, trade and the growing economic aid offered by China to change of diplomatic recognition.
