大學生全球視野調查研究

Research on Undergraduate's Global Perspective

摘要


現今我國大學生面臨到的全球化與大學國際化所帶來的挑戰與世界高等教育的脈動息息相關,全球化與大學國際化的發展為大學生提供培育全球能力的養分。Braskamp 和Merrill(2009)主張大學生為了要能適應未來的工作、生活以及結交來自各地不同文化、習俗、觀點和宗教信仰等背景的朋友,大學應發展大學生的全球視野以應對當代的多元社會。並且根據Knight和Mcnamara(2015)的研究顯示,擁有跨國經驗的學生能增進他們的專業技能,並能促進他們的能力,學生們亦認為這些經驗將在求職時發揮優勢。因此,現今大學生具備全球視野與否,則成為是否足以應對未來挑戰的重要指標。 本研究係以問卷調查為研究方法,共回收有效問卷1098份,針對我國大學生進行全球視野調查研究,旨在探討我國大學生的全球視野能力,並以SPSS進行統計分析,以獨立樣本t檢定、變異數及迴歸為方法對問卷資料分析研究。研究結果指出:一、有出國經驗的大學生,其在全球視野上的「理解與應用」、「社會責任」及「知識與策略」上展現較佳的表現;二、成績自我評估越高的大學生,在全球視野上展現較佳的表現;三、女性大學生在全球視野下的「社會責任」上展現較佳的表現;四、男性大學生在全球視野下的「知識與策略」上展現較佳的表現;五、外語學院大學生在全球視野的「知識與策略」上較理學院學生展現較佳的表現。

Globalization, internationalization of universities, and latest trends in higher education bring new challenges to Taiwanese students in this modern era. These changes and developments also support the students in building global perspectives. Braskamp and Merrill (2009) suggest that, in order for students to prepare for their future careers and lives, as well as making friends of various cultural, political, and religious backgrounds, universities should encourage their students to cultivate global perspectives and learn from the diverse society today. According to Knight and Mcnamara (2015), students with international experience can better enhance their professional skills, and they also deem these experiences an advantage during job-hunting. Therefore, having global perspective is the key to determining whether a university student is capable of facing future challenges. This study surveyed Taiwanese university students with a questionnaire focused on global perspectives, and 1098 valid samples were collected. Utilizing SPSS, data analysis was performed in three modes: independent sample t-test, variance analysis, and regression. The major findings are: 1) Students who have been abroad, have better performance in “comprehension and application,” “social responsibilities,” and “knowledge and strategies.” 2) Students with higher self-evaluation, have better performance in all dimensions. 3) Female students tend to be more responsible. 4) Male students tend to be more knowledgable and strategic. 5) In the “knowledge and strategies” dimension, students with foreign languages majors prevail over their counterparts who major in science.
