在聚醚碸中添加聚氧化乙烯為添加劑之製備與性質探討並應用在水過濾

Preparation and characterization of poly(ethersulfone) (PES) membranes with poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO)

摘要


研究目的為探討利用環境友善材料於聚醚碸(PES)高分子以非溶劑誘導相分離法(NIPS)製造出性質良好的超過濾膜。添加不同比例的聚氧化乙烯(PEO)做為成孔劑,並以二甲基亞碸作為溶劑在80˚C下溶解,在室溫下以250 μm刮刀在玻璃板上製備液膜,並迅速地置入常溫的蒸餾水沉澱槽中相轉換成薄膜,薄膜在蒸餾水中震盪清洗2天以去除PEO與溶劑。實驗結果發現隨著PEO的增加水通量也隨之增加;上表面接觸角隨著PEO的增加而下降,下表面接觸角也是隨著PEO增加而下降,表示親水性增加。最大抗拉強度隨著PEO添加而下降;最大變形量在添加了14%的PEO後比純的PES增加了10%。從SEM的圖片中可以看到膜大致分成兩個區域,分別是30~50 μm的巨孔,以及10 μm左右的手指狀胞孔,孔的內壁都是由微小蜂巢狀孔洞結構組成,由MWCO測試結果得知,整體薄膜孔徑分布在10-20nm左右。在FTIR/ATR光譜中可以發現在2887cm-1的C-H峰幾乎看不到,而使用NMR測試中發現所有比例的PEO都有殘留17%,而過濾後的薄膜依舊仍有17%的殘留率,代表PES與PEO混融相當良好,除此之外都被洗掉了。在牛血清白蛋白抗垢實驗中,有添加PEO的薄膜回復率至少有59.43%,最高則有66.25%以上;而牛血清白蛋白的阻隔率都有90%以上。

The research purpose is to discuss PES using NIPS to produce high-quality ultrafiltration membranes with eco-friendly materials. By adding different ratios of PEO as additives, and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as solvent, they are melted at 80˚C, then put on glass plate with 250 μm casting knife to make casting film at room temperature. After casting film is made, quickly put it in normal temperature distilled water to phase transition into membranes. Membranes in distilled water will be ultrasonically cleaned for 2 days to remove PEO and solvent. Experimental results show that pure water flux will increase along with the increase proportion of PEO, top and bottom surface contact angle will decrease while amount of PEO increases, meaning hydrophilicity has increased. Max stress is weakened by the amount of PEO added, max strain with 14% PEO added is 10% better than pure PES membrane. From SEM’s picture we can see that membranes are mostly divided into 2 areas, one is 30~50 μm macrovoids-like pores, the other is 10 μm finger-like pores. The composition of pores’s wall are small sponge like structure, from the testing results of MWCO, we learned that membrane pore sizes are between 10-20nm. In FTIR/ATR spectrum, it can be found PEO is nearly unspotted in 2887cm-1 C-H peak, while using NMR it is found that all proportions of PEO have 17% remaining, membranes after filtering have 17% residual rate means PES and PEO blend very well, others beside the the two mentioned are all washed out. In BSA fouling resistance test, flux recovery ratio of the membranes with PEO added is at least 59.43%, and the highest is over 66.25%; while the rejection ratio of BSA is over 90%
