本研究以人體臨床試驗探討添加植物固醇之牛乳對於血清膽固醇的影響。將44名血脂質較高之成年人隨機分成兩組,一組(n=22)給與含有植醇的牛乳(每瓶含0.9克植醇,一天給予兩瓶1.8克),另一組(n=22)則給與安慰劑無添加植醇的牛乳。本研究分為三階段,第一階段為一週的飲食調整期(run-in period),第二階段為十週的攝食介入期(administration period),每位受試者兩瓶250cc的樣品或安慰劑,第三階段為停止攝食後為期三週的觀察期(follow-up period)。結果發現,受試者飲用含植醇牛乳連續六週後,血清總膽固醇(serum cholesterol)和低密度脂蛋白膽固醇含量(LDL-cholesterol)皆有顯著下降(p< 0.05),但對於血清三酸甘油酯(TG)、和高密度脂蛋白膽固醇(HDL-cholesterol)則無顯著影響。
This present study was to evaluate the effect of consumption of phytosterol containing milk on serum cholesterol for adults with board hyperlipidemia. Forty-four subjects were involved in the study. They were randomly assigned into two groups. Each subject in experimental and control group drank 2 bottles of phytosterol containing milk(0.9g phytosterol /bottle)everyday. In control group, each subject drank 2 bottles of normal milk everyday. After two weeks of run-in period, subjects in both groups were treated with sample or placebo for continuous 10 weeks. Results clearly showed the subjects drank phytosterol containing milk significantly lowered serum cholesterol and low- density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) (p<0.05) than placebo , but not for their triglyceride (TG), low- density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C).
