語句長度及句型對學前發展性語言障礙兒童語句覆誦之影響

摘要


臨床常使用標準化測驗和語言樣本了解發展性語言障礙(Developmental language disorder, DLD)兒童的語法能力,但過去文獻指出這兩種方式實際操作仍有限制。此外,語法能力還可透過語句覆誦任務(Sentence Repetition, SR)測驗得知。本研究編製操控語句長度及句型的華語SR任務,並探討學前DLD兒童在SR任務的表現,以及與標準化語言測驗分數和故事重述語法指標之間的關聯。 本研究招募四到五歲DLD兒童和其年齡配對的典型發展 (Typical development, TD)兒童各19名。兩組兒童年齡及非語言智力分數皆無差異,但DLD兒童的標準化語言測驗分數低於TD兒童。所有兒童皆進行標準化口語語法測驗、故事重述以及SR任務。SR任務的語句項目之長度橫跨二到七個詞,語句類型共有9個,總共49句。 研究結果顯示,DLD兒童SR正確率顯著較TD兒童差,且SR正確率與標準化語言及口語語法測驗的表現相關。但DLD兒童SR任務的表現與語言樣本的語法指標無相關。SR句型對兩組兒童影響類似,句長則對DLD兒童有較大的影響。綜合上述,本研究支持同時考量句長與句型的SR任務可用於快速檢測DLD兒童的語法能力。

Clinicians often use standardized language test and language samples to assess syntactic ability in children with developmental language disorder (DLD). However, previous studies had indicated that there were practical constraints in these two options. Nevertheless, syntactic ability could also be assessed through the Sentence Repetition (SR) task. In the current study, we developed a Mandarin version of SR task with consideration of sentences length and structures in order to investigate whether SR performance in preschool children with DLD were related to performances in standardized language tests and story retelling. Also, we would like to explore whether sentence length and structures played a role in SR performances. We recruited 19 four to five-year-old DLD children and 19 age-matched children with typical development (TD). There were no group differences in age and nonverbal intelligence scores, but children with DLD scored lower than their age matches on standardized language tests . A standardized test of oral grammar, story retelling, and the SR task were administered. The sentence length of the SR items ranged from 2 to 7 words, with 9 sentence types, 49 items in total. Our results showed that children with DLD were less accurate than TD children in the SR task, and that SR accuracy was correlated with scores in standardized language tests and MLU in story retelling. However, no correlation was found between SR accuracy and syntactic indexes of story retells in children with DLD whereas children with DLD were affected by sentence length more than children with TD.We concluded that the SR task with consideration of sentence length and structures showed its potential to rapidly detect syntactic difficulties in children with DLD .
