益生菌已被認為具有降低血脂的功效。但並不是所有的益生菌都可以降低血脂。在本研究中八種益生菌包括五種乳酸桿菌 (lactobacilli) 分別為A菌 (嗜酸乳桿菌;Lactovacillus acidophilus)、C菌 (乾酪乳桿菌;Lactobacillus casei subsp)、LL菌 (乳球菌;Lactococcus lactis)、LP菌 (副乾酪乳桿菌;Lactobacillus pracasei)、LGG菌 (鼠李糖乳桿菌;Lactobacillus rhanosus GG) 和三種比菲德氏菌 (bifidobacteria) 分別為B菌 (雙叉雙歧桿菌;Bifidobacterium bifidum)、L菌 (長雙歧桿菌;Bifidobacterium longum)、I菌 (嬰兒歧桿菌;Bifidobacterium infantis) 被選定用來測試對於降低血脂的能力。實驗對象為雄性倉鼠,採餵食12%高油脂(添加0.2%的膽固醇)飼料,並同時給予不同劑量的益生菌 (200、400和 800 mg/kg),8週後觀察血清生化指數的變化情形。結果顯示血清低密度脂蛋白膽固醇、血清總膽固醇以及血清三酸甘油酯的含量,高膽固醇的治療組 (400 mg/kg和800 mg/kg) 較高膽固醇的對照組有顯著降低,在治療組 (400 mg/kg) 的數值分別為117±79、302±196以及247±228,在治療組 (800 mg/kg) 的數值分別為93±31、255±89以及272±264,在高膽固醇的對照組分別為241±97、586±218以及546±303。因此,我們認為八種益生菌對於降低倉鼠體內血脂是有功效的。
Probiotics have been considered to be effective in the lowering lipid activity. But not all probiotics can reduce blood lipids. In this study, eight probiotics, including five lactobacilli were A strains (Lactobacillus acidophilus), C bacteria (Lactobacillus casei subsp), LL bacteria (Lactococcus lactis ), LP bacteria (Lactobacillus paracasei; Lactobacillus pracasei), LGG bacteria (Lactobacillus rhanosus GG) and three bifidobacteria were B strains (Bifidobacterium bifidum), L bacteria (Bifidobacterium longum), I bacteria (Bifidobacterium infantis), have been selected to test the ability to lower blood lipids. Male hamsters were fed diet with 12% high oil plus 0.2% cholesterol, and also given different doses of probiotics (200, 400 and 800 mg/kg). After 8 weeks, the variations in serum biochemical index were screen. The results showed that the levels of serum low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, serum total cholesterol and serum triglycerides in high cholesterol and probiotics (400 mg/kg and 800 mg/kg) -treated group were significantly lower than that in high cholesterol treated group. The high cholesterol and probiotics-treated group (400 mg/kg) values were 117 ± 79, 302 ± 196 and 247 ± 228, respectively; the high cholesterol and probiotics-treated group (800 mg/kg) values were 93 ± 31, 255 ± 89 and 272 ± 264, respectively; the high cholesterol-treated group were 241 ± 97, 586 ± 218 and 546 ± 303, respectively. Therefore, we suggest that the eight probiotics in reducing blood lipids in hamsters is effective.
